Sarah began her career at the National Geographic Channel where she worked as a Producer on multi platform promotional campaigns for shows like Brain Games, The Incredible Dr. Pol, Taboo, Doomsday Preppers, Border Wars and Drugs Inc.. I'm a writer, communications professional and documentary filmmaker. I am the principal owner of Blackwell Entertainment, Arts & Multimedia LLC. I previously worked as a communications professional for five years and as a journalist for 10 years. I also taught film courses at Howard University, Hampton University and George Mason University and was a media teaching artist for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. I was a fellow in WIFV's 2024 inaugural Documentary Development Fellowship Program, and am currently working on an agricultural documentary.

A Seattle native, I've found myself working across the country at a variety of news organizations before landing at NASA TV in late 2019. While working at NASA Headquarters, I spend my time on assignments ranging from editing video promos for the flagship social media channels and producing video shoots, to writing scripts for narrative videos and mini docs. With a background in multimedia journalism, my passions include short-form video storytelling and the environment, but if it involves a story, I'm in.

I have not yet completed a project that has satisfied my thirst to tell stories. Jed Winer is a videographer, editor, and animator based in Washington, DC. He creates short educational videos for NOAA Ocean Today and enjoys figuring out how to convey NOAA’s important mission-driven work in an engaging and easy to understand visual way. He is currently working on a 6-part short animated series to teach kids about the connection between Earth's ocean, weather, and climate. Prior to joining NOAA, Jed worked at National Geographic, where he produced/edited documentary, news, and explainer videos.
