A Seattle native, I've found myself working across the country at a variety of news organizations before landing at NASA TV in late 2019. While working at NASA Headquarters, I spend my time on assignments ranging from editing video promos for the flagship social media channels and producing video shoots, to writing scripts for narrative videos and mini docs. With a background in multimedia journalism, my passions include short-form video storytelling and the environment, but if it involves a story, I'm in.

I'm an editor and producer working in nonfiction film and video. I currently work at The Washington Post as a video editor, where I make videos for the newsroom's social media accounts. 

Currently, I’m in a phase of seeking work with video production companies in DC, but my main goal is that I seek to work on feature films. Outside of video work, I have personal projects in progress. In addition to setting up my own portfolio and a small in-house recording space for audio books, I’m working on a feature script in its early phases with a writer and looking for others. I have not yet completed a project that has satisfied my thirst to tell stories. I'm a writer, communications professional and documentary filmmaker. I am the principal owner of Blackwell Entertainment, Arts & Multimedia LLC. I previously worked as a communications professional for five years and as a journalist for 10 years. I also taught film courses at Howard University, Hampton University and George Mason University and was a media teaching artist for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. I was a fellow in WIFV's 2024 inaugural Documentary Development Fellowship Program, and am currently working on an agricultural documentary. 

Sarah began her career at the National Geographic Channel where she worked as a Producer on multi platform promotional campaigns for shows like Brain Games, The Incredible Dr. Pol, Taboo, Doomsday Preppers, Border Wars and Drugs Inc.. She then explored documentary filmmaking working for a production company that took her around the country shooting award winning documentaries, including, Life in Synchro and Everyone But Two.She is now the lead Producer and Editor at Stitch House Studios where she owns and operates a full service video production company alongside her partner and husband ...
