About Me

I was a founder and Executive Director of the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund after 9/11, working closely with the hospitality community and the families affected. This project grows directly from that work and the extraordinary people I met during that time.

The film explores how the hospitality community responded in the days, weeks, and months after 9/11—chefs cooking at Ground Zero, restaurants turning their kitchens into relief hubs, and a grassroots movement that spread from New York across the country and the world. What began as feeding first responders and families grew into something larger: a story of compassion, resilience, and how food and community helped heal a city and a nation.

Savoring Hope will premiere at the 9/11Memorial & Museum in 2026 as part of the 25th-anniversary commemoration. It is also the centerpiece of a broader national initiative that includes:

  • A traveling immersive exhibit with archival materials, interactive storytelling with holograms, and shared-meal activations
  • A companion podcast, Voices at the Table, to capture additional stories that may not appear in the film
  • A “Gather & Dine” app designed to spark a national call-to-action—inviting people across the country to come together over a meal, share stories, and honor the spirit of service that defined the days after 9/11

Our goal is not only to preserve these histories but to inspire new acts of connection and community, especially for younger generations who may not know this chapter of post-9/11 resilience.
